OTC Switzerland: Enjoy the alternative!
For more than twenty years, the AIOD (International association for dynamic osteosynthesis) has provided young and experienced surgeons with efficient alternatives to rigid fixation of bone fractures through courses and interactive workshops.
Since 2014, the course is back to Switzerland with the support of our main sponsor and the swiss branch of the OTC. Each year, it keeps developing the concept of dynamic fixation of the fractures and presenting the newest tools to achieve bone healing with minimal soft-tissue trauma, in a non-dogmatic approach of traumatology.
In order to present the devices and methods in a stimulating and interactive way, the committee decided to dedicate more time to the workshops, offering every participant the possibility to perform each procedure on high-quality artificial bone.
For the second year, the course will be held in Thun, in the Berner Oberland, offering a magnificent environment as well as a central position allowing everyone to come from all over the country quite easily.
This year, the 24th OTC course will be held from September 9-11, 2019 and thanks to the OTC foundation (OTCF), one of the participants will have the chance to win a two weeks fellowship in a renowned trauma hospital in Europe, all expenses paid. The winner will be selected during a quizz opened to all participants on the last day of the course.
At last, Dr Iris Brouze, a young assistant who won the contest last year, will be presenting her thrilling experience during a keynote speech.
The members of the committee are looking forward to welcoming a large number of participants in Thun this year again!
