Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends,
It is with great pleasure that we invite you, on behalf of the Swiss Transplantation Society, to join us at the 22nd Annual Congress on January 23 and 24, 2025 at the Congress Hotel Seepark, in Thun.
For this annual meeting our scientific committee has prepared a very attractive program, covering timely topics and relevant issues, both for transplant patients and for transplant specialists.
To foster participation of our young colleagues and to motivate them pursuing a career in transplantation, the scientific committee has introduced a new format, the rapid fire session, where young investigator can showcase their research and compete for a new award dedicated to young academic colleagues. We are very thankful to our sponsors who made this possible. With 19 abstracts submitted, the start was highly successful!
One session is entirely dedicated to pediatrics – understanding the unique aspects of pediatric transplantation and the complexities involved in providing optimal care for these patients across various stages of life.
Many other timely topics will be addressed. - We would like to highlight three: gender is becoming an important topic at many levels and will be addressed by an expert in the field, Vera Regitz-Zagrosek, from Zurich. Organ repair is the new kid on the block, and we are happy to welcome Prof. Stefan Schneeberger, from Innsbruck, who will report about his pioneering work. We also won Prof. Camille Kotton, from Boston, one of the world-leaders in all aspects of CMV. She will report on new developments in this rapidly changing field.
Our program will end up with the ceremony of the STS Innovation awards 2024, and a final session on a special case to remember, presented by each center.
