Program

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to warmly welcome you to the 87th Annual Meeting of the Swiss Pathololgy Society in Interlaken, or the 2nd Swiss Pathology Days. This year, the SSPath Committee has entrusted a team of young board certified pathologists and senior residents with the organization of the scientific program, an exciting opportunity we deeply appreciate.

The motto of this congress is "BE CURIOUS". From the very beginning of human life, curiosity drives us to cross borders. It is an important driving force for innovation and the acquisition of knowledge, both in medicine and in other areas of society. We hope that the scientific program will satisfy some of the ever-growing curiosity of the pathology community. We are proud to have struck a balance between national and international experts who, amongst other things, will update on new classifications, facilitate access to complex topics and provide an overview of the latest developments. The slide seminars will focus on the frozen section and will try to simulate its pace and working conditions. The latest developments in research will be showcased in the form of free presentations in the main program and poster sessions. We are also looking forward to discuss the newest developments in the field directly with our partners in industry.

If not forced otherwise by the pandemic situation, the conference will be held in the Kursaal Interlaken Congress Centre, an ideal venue for this purpose. We are all looking forward to making new personal contacts and deepening old friendships. The traditional gala dinner is the ideal opportunity to do so. However, as many of us also appreciate the flexibility of the virtual space, we are offering the slide seminars on Saturday as a hybrid event; it is thus possible to attend it both online and in person.

We are delighted to welcome you to Interlaken for an interesting and informative conference.

With warm regards, the Organizing Committee
